1-day Mental Health Champion Higher Education course
The 1-day MHFA England course is a specifically tailored to the Higher Education setting and gives an in-depth understanding of the following mental health conditions which may impact upon staff and student mental health:

Suicidal thoughts and suicidal crisis

Substance misuse

Anxiety disorders

Self-harm

Eating disorders

Psychosis
It also offers:

practical suggestions for communicating with individuals

guidance on early warning signs and intervention

an introduction to various treatment options and an overview of where to signpost to

an understanding of safeguarding issues

an opportunity to explore stigma and discrimination

an understanding of issues relating to confidentiality

Learning takes place across two sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Each delegate will receive a workbook which they will complete during the course as well as a Higher Education MHFA manual which has a wealth of information and resources which they can refer to in future.
